CNN Video #s:

Have searched for the CNN newscast that the above screenshot was taken from and have been unsuccessful, but from the video I viewed the odds are that the numbers shown in the picture were being shown as a demonstration of how inaccurate/irrelevant those numbers are.
Numbers likes these have shown up on websites and FoxNews as being significant, unfortunately those presenting these numbers are intentionally trying to mislead their followers.
First of all, even if the numbers were accurate, and they aren't, their are about 6 times more whites than blacks in America. So the numbers above actually prove that the police kill blacks at a MUCH higher rate than they do whites. Comparing any numbers concerning any type of deaths have little relevance with out looking at total population numbers.
Second, there is no requirement for the police (state and local) to report shootings to the FBI. The agency that would be responsible for compiling the information. So you have to wander where these numbers come from. That's why the numbers shown have to be viewed as questionable.
Its also why picture above were probably from a CNN story criticizing the use of those numbers, case in point: CNN recently exposed Bill O'rielly (FoxNews) for using numbers that were absent of a source or comparisons to total population. Others have been exposed for using numbers from the CDC that were in reference to deaths from causes other than shootings or the police.
If there is any doubt about what I'm saying do 2 things:
1. Ask yourself why so many shootings (311) have no race identified.
2. Do a Google search for "killed by police in 2014 cnn" and review some of the videos.
